Inspired by a photo of a prisoner in the Warsaw Ghetto death camp.
The wing was drawn at the Burke Museum of Natural History, Univ. of Washington, Seattle.
This has been a popular work by audiences, whether school pupils/students and/or adults, at exhibits and during my slide – power-point presentations. When I’m asked “Why did you only draw one wing?” I like to “toss” the question back to whoever asked, e.g. “Why do YOU think I drew the victim with one wing (and not two wings)?”
