Begun early November, the drawing went through several states including being a smaller vertical and then eventually a larger horizontal drawing. On Nov. 19, 2021 I pasted 7 U.S. postage stamps from my childhood stamp collection on the mat; and I rubber-stamped (a rubber stamp image of a) chicken; a rubber stamp image of a rabbit on a bicycle (double stamped so it's blurry); a rubber stamp stating DISPLAY; a rubber stamp stating Please Post - Thanks!; and a rubber stamp stating OVERLOOKED - PLEASE ATTEND TO.
On November 28 I added two pieces of found wood to the bottom of the wood frame. On the curved piece of wood I mounted 3 toy vehicles. On the horizontal piece of wood at bottom, I attached 2 toy pieces from a set I'd bought at a charity thrift store. At lower left, that one has a color picture of a mouse; at lower right, a snail.
Aiden Leos, age 6, of blessed memory, was shot to death while a passenger his sister, in a car being driven by his mom on the way to kindergarten in the Los Angeles area, May 21, 2021. His sister was also a passenger in the car.
At lower left in the drawing: A pencil drawing I did in 1968, the year I graduated Martin Van Buren high school, Queens Village, New York. The pencil drawing is of a man wearing a hat, wearing a belt with bullets and pointing a rifle. That same year Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were both shot to death, nationally prominent victims of America's gun genocide and decades of terrorism.
Every shooting in the U.S. is terrorism. It is enabled by self-described "pro-life" elected legislators; judges; and U.S. Supreme Court justices whose support of "gun rights" is in actuality and deed pro-death, pro-terrorism. Every elected legislator, judge and U.S. Supreme Court justice who votes for gun rights is pro-death and each enables the ongoing horror, carnage and slaughter. Over decades American gun rights is a genocide. The United States is the only developed country with such brutal carnage and terrorism.
Between 1968 and 2021, at least 1,500,000 American babies, toddlers, children, teens and adults of all ages have been shot-to-death due to the U.S. government's legislative and judicial enabling of the terrorism and genocide of"gun rights."
This carnage is a mirror of that perpetrated by genocide perpetrators and/or of terrorism groups, e.g., the genocide in Indonesia, 1965-66; the genocide perpetrated by the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia, 1975-79; the 1994 genocide in Rwanda; and of terrorism groups, e.g. Islamic State; the Taliban; Boko Haram.
SWD 48 is the 13th artwork in the SIght-seeing with Dignity human rights art series portraying victims of America's genocide of "gun-rights" terrorism.
