BLeecHie gun HorRor! and memorial portrait of Donnie Chin, International District community health advocate, shot-to-death July 23, 2015, Seattle

Art: Begun December 11; completed Dec. 25, 2021
Media: Pencil, ink, gouache, colored pencil on paper, stitched twine
Framed: 21.5 inches H x 17.5 W [54.61 cm. H x 44.45 W]

The frame has metal corner braces, lower left and right. On the frame, bottom center, I added a piece of wood with a cartoonish drawing of a face and the word FACE on the wood; I saw it on the sidewalk, 2021 and took it home. I added a second piece of found detritus onto the frame, July 19, 2022: A plastic smiley face which I had seen on the pavement when walking to the Uwajimaya supermarket in Seattle in mid July. I sawed the top off (which had the name of some company) so it would fit on the wood frame, seen at upper right.

The drawing imagery includes an ink and watercolor portrait of Chin; and five allegorical gun-rights, gun horror monsters. Of the more allegorical gun-rights monsters at center left, upper left, lower right. The center left monster includes wordage from Amazon's weapons sales: AMAZON, TOY, GUN. In the Amazon website there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of toy guns for sale. And while those are toys, many of which look real, Amazon sells real guns, including military-grade automatic weapons.
~
Google-Youtube, comparable to Amazon, is a huge American corporate sponsor and promoter of gun-rights. Their respective corporate sponsorship helps set the framework that allows and enables the ongoing slaughter of tens of thousands of Americans shot dead every year. (And far more are wounded from shootings, many catastrophicially, both physically and psychologically). In the allegorical gun-rights monster at right, I included the words YOUTUBE, AUTOMATIC, HANDGUN, AUTOMATIC, drawn from a Youtube posted video posted by someone or by a company promoting an automatic handgun.

The Google corporation is the parent company of Youtube. The Google corporation, parent company of Google's Youtube, is a huge corporate American company sponsor of guns, gun sales, and the resulting slaughter. Youtube posted videos promote and advertise all types and manner of guns, including military-grade weaponry for civilian ownership in the U.S.
